Overview:

This customer is one of the world's largest suppliers of a wide range of commodities and raw materials, including metals and minerals, crude oil and oil products, and coal and agricultural products. Their commercial counterparts are both producers and industrial consumers.

Challenges:

Counterparts were being created in disparate systems with no relationships across the different platforms. A solution that allowed the creation of counterparties with its associated attributes centrally was required. Integration to current source systems was to send information in near real-time and get a response back with the legacy code generated for automatic mapping. Central creation tool was to create a presentation layer on their proprietary data model.

Solution:

OneData was selected as the tool to create, manage and deploy counterparts. The scope will expand to managing other master data sets in the organization as a phased approach. OneData works as a presentation layer as well as the information interchange layer with messaging, remote procedure execution, and remote database update are some of the mechanisms for deployment. OneData’s Single-Schema Landscape with Flow-thru workflow configuration is being used. Pre-DML hook configuration triggers business rules on saves to ensure system-specific requirements are met before the data is distributed.
