Customer:
State of New Jersey
Challenges:
Depicted below is a framework put forward by NJ State IT Services group with each layer representing a set of technologies put in place to enable certain business/technology processes.
Office of Information Technology developed the New Jersey Common Data Architecture
(NJCDA) to address data management issues in a consistent manner. The architecture is a collection of
related tools and technologies, along with standards and policies and the methodology and the expertise
to employ them – reusability and accuracy being the two key factors for developing this layer in the
organization.
Solution:
OneData was selected as the tool to deploy the CDA vision in the Organization,
thereby forming a key foundational data layer. Phased implementation started with providing business
visibility to existing data assets to the end-users. Central maintenance of content, definitions and
sharable data entities is currently in implementation. Governance and change management processes
as defined by the State are already configured in OneData as per their needs.
Benefits:
- Collect data once and use it often, improving data accuracy
- Store data more effectively for a timelier and more complete information picture
- Reduce or eliminate costs associated with data collection, storage and error correction
- Improve access to information while better protecting the privacy of individuals
