OneData to be implemented as the New Jersey Universal Data Store
Englewood Cliffs, NJ - September 29, 2004 - Data Foundations announced today that the State of New Jersey has licensed OneData, its collaborative data management software for managing Reference Data, Master Data, Metadata, and other data universes. The New Jersey Office of Information Technology’s Data Management Services will implement OneData as the New Jersey Universal Data Store (NJUDS), initially managing statewide common reference data objects and values. A second phase will expand the use to include a metadata catalog - the New Jersey Metadata Repository (NJMDR).
New Jersey will use OneData to meet two distinct challenges. It enables the delivery and management of common reference data to all applications for efficiencies of service, increased accuracy and reduced development costs. In addition, it supports the collection and cataloging of complex metadata - essentially all forms of systems documentation - to increase asset reusability, improve time to delivery and reduce maintenance costs.
“We selected OneData because of the capabilities it gave us in managing reference data out of the box, using the State’s enterprise logical data model,” said Dan Paolini, Director of Data Management Services at the State of New Jersey. “As we worked with Data Foundations, we found that OneData provided us with unique metadata management capabilities as well.”
